Where Talent Matters | A Bold Faced Blog Series … Meet Meghan Pariso

Posted 4 years 32 days ago by Gretchen Hirsch

Of course Ashton212 Associates are excellent at what our clients expect of them. But our consultants are much more than their work, and we enjoy learning about what they’re like away from the office. Today we’ve caught up with Meghan Pariso.

How long have you been associated with Ashton212?

I’m about to begin my first Ashton212 engagement with a major financial services organization. I’ll be involved as brand marketing project manager.

Why that particular type of engagement?

My background is marketing communications, and over my 15+ year career, I’ve been involved in all sorts of marketing activities, from social media to event management to even being a copywriter. I have experience on both the agency and corporate side and I have had my own consulting business in the past.

Ashton212 has been very careful about the process of finding me the perfect fit. They have worked hard to keep me in the mix of opportunities and I felt a real synergy with the person I’ll be working with on this engagement.

If you weren’t involved in marketing, what type of work do you think you’d do—and why?

I would likely be a teacher. Both my mother and grandmother were teachers, and I very much admire the work they did. Today, I'm involved in the school my boys attend and I enjoy being part of the learning process. I see firsthand how teachers foster creativity and mold their students' futures so that one day they will lead successful and productive lives.

Outside of work, what makes your heart beat?

My husband and my two boys, 9 and 7. I’m very actively involved in their school; I recently oversaw their school auction, which was a fundraiser. The boys also participate in baseball, swim team, and other activities, and I’m involved in that, too. People have told me that time with children goes very fast, and I’m beginning to feel that, as my older boy turns 10 this year. I’m savoring all these moments with them.

What part of the world you most like your family to visit?

There are so many places I want to visit with my family, it’s hard to choose one. At the top of my list would be Provence. I'm a foodie at heart and would love to take in the all of the flavors this rich area has to offer. The food, the people, the history, it would be amazing to introduce my family (for just a few weeks) to this beautiful backdrop, just like the palette of one of my favorite Van Gogh paintings.

What do you feel is a significant challenge in your life?

Balance is very important to me and sometimes it’s challenging and complex. I love to roll up my sleeves and get involved and do the best work I can for clients. I also love to cook and entertain and stay fit and healthy. I’m a runner and I’ve recently taken up golf. I think fitness is very important to conquering the day at work and everywhere else. Of course, I also want to spend lots of time with my family. The ideal work situation is to find those who understand what I can bring to the table and who also have a similar understanding of life balance.

What’s a perfect day for you?

Putting my best foot forward at work and coming home to my husband and children.

What would you like people to know about you?

I’m a genuine, positive person and I take that mentality with me wherever I am.
