Bay Area Women Leaders Network | May 2015 Gathering!

Posted 2 years 177 days ago by Sheila Ellian Lewis

The Bay Area Women Leaders Network’s  "Strengthening and Supporting Courageous Leadership" program was held on May 11 at Bergerac in San Francisco. A large gathering of more than 120 women leaders were in attendance.  Global speaker on teams and courage Cindy Solomon uncovered the truth about how women really feel about their courage.

Panelists Wilma Wallace (Gap, Inc.), Sheri Rhodes (Symantec), and Patricia Murillo (Alternatives in Action) were deftly facilitated by Maya Tussing (BlackRock). Attendees learned about the importance of having people who will tell you the truth with no agenda regarding the outcome. Patricia Murillo shared her unique perspective on courageous leadership by serving as the leader of Alternatives in Action, where she champions 1,300 Oakland youth each year to gain the skills and support to become courageous leaders themselves.

Mary Ann Munro, Ashton212’s President attended and of the event, she said, “This amazing group of women intimately shared facts and personal experience, wrapped in candor and humor, to bring a stressful narrative to action. The frank dialogue brought to life the common fears we all share and shed a light on the importance we have to lean in and go for it!”
