Sheila to Speak at Women Entrepreneurs Event

Posted 3 years 138 days ago by Gretchen Hirsch

On February 4, 2016, the Alameda County Small Business Development Center is holding an event targeting women business owners. Two consecutive panel discussions will be held with a focus on how women have successfully started and scaled their businesses, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way. Ashton212’s CEO Sheila Lewis will be a panelist.

  • Panel 1: Starting a Business | Navigating the terrain of resources available for women led start ups, maintaining a work/life balance, strategies for marketing and promoting your business, and tips for success.
  • Panel 2: Scaling a Business | Deciding when and how to scale your business including the pros and cons of scale, planning for growth, transitioning your founder-based business to one that is scalable, and financing growth.

An entrepreneur for 19 years, Sheila has informally and formally coached and counseled business owners through start up and early growth through expansion, mergers and acquisitions. This work has led to the recent launch of Ashton212’s Business Transformation & Innovation Practice where Sheila and other Ashton Associates work with CEOs and their leadership teams (of firms with annual revenue between $2.5M - $50M) to define a vision for growth and gain clarity about the demands on them, their teams, and the firm’s infrastructure to achieve their goals. The result is not only a road map to expansion, but also a clear understanding of the required leadership, talent, attitude and behavior. This work is completed through a series of expansion facilitation exercises, meetings and retreats.

A separate team of Ashton Associates provides business transformation consulting services to multi-national Fortune 1000 and mid- cap firms. For additional information on our Business Transformation & Innovation Practice, please contact Sheila at 510-836-0310 or sheila@ashton212.com.

This SBDC’s Women Entrepreneurs event is co-produced by The Alameda County SBDC and the Women's Business Center. This event is made possible by a generous contribution from Chase Bank.
